Importing history
New Wahoo rides reach FitRepo automatically. Backfill is for everything else: your history from before you joined, rides that were missed, and rides that only reach Intervals.icu (Garmin, Zwift).
From the Backfill page
Section titled “From the Backfill page”- Open Backfill.
- Choose a source: Wahoo or Intervals.icu.
- Pick a date range (up to 20 years), or click Import everything.
- Click Start import.
The import runs in the background — you can close the tab, and you’ll get an email when it’s done. The progress card shows how many rides were imported, skipped and failed.
Rides that are already stored are skipped. To re-import them (for example after deleting a ride to replace it with a copy from another source), tick Skip duplicate check.
If an import stops making progress, the page offers Resume.
By asking Claude
Section titled “By asking Claude”With FitRepo connected to Claude (see MCP Setup), you can ask:
“Backfill new workouts.” “Pull in today’s ride from Intervals.” “Import everything from Wahoo since June.”
For “backfill new workouts”, Claude checks the date of your latest stored ride and imports from then until today. If both Wahoo and Intervals.icu are connected and you didn’t say which, it asks. It then waits for the import and tells you what came in.
Imports started from Claude are the same jobs as the Backfill page, so they appear there too. Both tools can be switched off in Settings → MCP access.
Limits and good to know
Section titled “Limits and good to know”- Up to 5 imports per hour. Importing from both sources at once counts as two.
- A Wahoo import and an Intervals.icu import can run at the same time; starting a second import from the same source replaces the one in progress.
- Importing does not trigger auto-sync to Strava or Intervals.icu.
- Rides that exist in both Wahoo and Intervals.icu are imported from each source you import from — see duplicates across sources.
